Panthers Volleyball get their 2nd win of the season against Rockland

Whitman-Hanson volleyball played at Rockland tonight and won in 5 sets. The game scores were 15-25, 25-14, 25-19, 25-20 and 17-15. This was a great match that had a lot of back and forth play. The two teams played great and battled for every point with several long rallies per set. In the opening set Whitman-Hanson got behind by a few points early on and couldn't reel Rockland back in. In the second and third sets Whitman-Hanson played good volleyball and finally kept their mistakes to a minimum. In the fourth set some of our mental mistakes came back into play preventing us from capitalizing on an early lead in the set. Rockland played well and got some good serving and rallied to take the fourth set. The fifth and deciding set was back and forth the entire time. Whitman-Hanson was down 14-15 and rallied to take the final three points to close out the game. A hard fought win! Leading the way for the Panthers were Erin Clifford with 10 assists, 2 aces and 11 digs; Erin Doherty with 7 assists and 1 ace; Erin Slayton with 8 assists and 1 ace, Rachel Spillane with 5 kills and 2 blocks.
