Silver-Lake defeats the Panthers 3-2

Whitman-Hanson traveled to Silver-Lake to face the Lakers and played a great match but lost 3-2. Game scores were 25-27, 12-25, 25-18, 25-20 and 13-15. The Panthers struggled in the first two sets with their passing and allowed the Lakers to control all aspects of the game. The Panthers came out in the third and fourth sets and played much better volleyball allowing them to win both sets. The Panthers were able to earn the victories in both sets thanks to solid passing from Sophia Raiche and Jordyn Keith and strong play at the net by Halle Julian and Chiara Cassiano. In the fifth set the Panthers got out to an early lead and looked to be in control of the deciding set until one of the Lakers servers was able to put together a string of strong serves earning the lead back for the Lakers. The teams went back and forth until the Lakers pulled away to earn the win. Playing well for the Panthers tonight were Raiche with 30 serve receives and 12 digs, Julian with 10 blocks and 8 kills and Alyssa Gacicia with 26 assists. The Panthers move to 10-5 on the season and travel to Hanover on Monday.
