Panthers lose in 3 to Pembroke

Whitman-Hanson played Pembroke tonight at home and lost 3-0. Game scores were 21-25, 22-25 and 15-25. Whitman-Hanson started the first game by getting into a 1-7 whole and despite some good play they couldn't fully climb out of that big hole. Pembroke had a good offense that kept Whitman-Hanson on its heels for most of the match and Whitman-Hanson couldn't turn their hitting opportunities into kills. The Panthers defense has been steadily improving throughout the season and teams are having a hard time finishing points leading to several exciting back and forth rallies. Whitman-Hanson's inability to hit the ball in bounds for kills prevented them pulling out a win in this game. If the Panthers offense can start clicking they have a real chance of improving on their win total of 5 games from last season. Whitman-Hanson plays N. Quincy on Tuesday.
